HAROLD H. HILPIPRE, age 85, of Elmore, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Elmore United Methodist Church in Elmore, with Rev. Arthur Keith officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Elmore United Methodist Church. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Blue Earth is assisting the family with the arrangements. Web condolences may be left at www.pattonfh.com Harold was born January 4, 1928, in Pilot Grove Township, MN the son of Henry and Emma (Moiser) Hilpipre. He was raised in Pilot Grove Township and attended country school and East Chain School. He moved to Elmore in 1948 and was married to Shirley Jean Mino on July 21, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Blue Earth. In October of that same year he entered the U.S. Army where he served for two years. In December of 1952 Harold and Jean started into the service and bulk oil business, as Harold would jokingly always say "until something better comes along". Sixty-two years later he was still serving the community. Harold and Jean have been proud to own and operate a business in Elmore, grateful for the friendships, support and memories that those years have given. Harold was a member of the Elmore United Methodist Church and the Elmore American Legion Sanford Post 192. He loved playing solitaire, fishing with his wife, family and friends and spending time at their cabin on Lake Jefferson. Harold is survived by his wife, Jean of Elmore, his sons, Mike (Mavis) - Blue Earth, Steve (Patricia) - Eden Prairie, Doug (Deborah) - Eden Prairie, Rick of Oracle, AZ, and Brad (Tammy) - Blue Earth, his daughter, Lorie (Kurt) Rame - New Prague, his brothers, Donald - Omaha, NE and Ray (Lorraine) - Blue Earth, his sisters, Phyllis (Roy) Rohlin - Okoboji, IA, Jo Ann Smith - Minneapolis and Barbara (Lester) Wood of Big Lake, his sisters-in-law, Marge James - Drummond, MT and Lucille Gerberding - Blue Earth, 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law: Roy and Anna Mae Mino, 4 sisters-in-law and 5 brothers-in-law.
