Merrian H. Koskovich, age 94, of Blue Earth, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Dr. Mark Wilms officiating. Burial will be in Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery, Bricelyn. Visitation time will be from 9:30 AM until service time on Tuesday at the church. Merrian was born January 28, 1919, in Seely Township, Bricelyn, MN, the daughter of Helmer and Mabel (Selthun) Gestie. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bricelyn. She was raised and educated in Bricelyn where she was a 1936 graduate of Bricelyn High School. She was married to Lawrence E. Flo in Algona, Iowa on June 18, 1938. To this union four children were born. Merrian was active in the Bricelyn Lutheran Church at this time including as a vocalist. Following Lawrence's death in 1955, she was later married to Ross A. Moore of Elmore on December 28, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple farmed in Pilot Grove Township for 18 years before moving to Blue Earth. Ross died in 1987 and Merrian was later welcomed into the Koskovich family when she married Arthur Koskovich on December 30, 1989 in St. Clair, MN. They continued to live in Blue Earth where she was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church; participating in various committees, TLCW and Circle. She sang in various church choirs for 80 years. Merrian loved music, poetry, flowers and bird-watching. Merrian is survived by her son, Carrol Flo of Winnebago, her daughter, Susan (Dan) Wiltse of Blue Earth, her daughter, Rebecca (Stephen) Leicher of Maple Grove, her sister, Judith Asmus of Blue Earth, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; daughter-in-law, Marian Westphal; the Koskovich extended family and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, son-Ronald Flo in 1997, brother, Robert Gestie and sister, Irene Moore.
